AUP Academic Emphasis 2015

09.11.15- It's my second time to witness Academic Emphasis and it was nothing different from last year. But let me share you things about the event to bring you up to date what's up with Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP).

Because I'm already sophomore I'm kinda used about the happenings in AUP but I still shouldn't miss its programs.

Every year, an event called Academic Emphasis is held to orient the new students about each department and colleges, talking about every houses' pride (uhm, potterheads?).

Parade of the Flag of the Different Countries
This year's is a bit like last year. The program opened with the new students marching to the Philippine International Church, followed by the faculties of each departments wearing their toga with a face of gratification.  The church exploded with colors when the flag holders of different countries paraded, The march ended with the parade of colors or the entry of the Philippine and university flag.

Welcome remarks was presented by the president of the university, Pres. Francisco D. Gayoba. Doc. Jose Maria P. Balmaceda of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, dean of the College of Science and Technology, left an inspirational message for the new students to ponder upon.

The musical was performed by the AUP orchestra and the AUP Faculty Ensemble sung as the intermission number.

But what ignited every students' blood is when the Academic Directors announced the staffs and students count. It promotes the pride of every department and how well they did in the past years. This motivates the freshman to stick with the program they chose.

The event ended right away with the staffs paced out of the PIC preceding the old students and other audience.
